APPELLATION ALSACE CONTRÔLÉE
TERROIR : Granitic, sandy and stony, incredibly light, the Lanzenberg is located on the top of the eastern exposed slope. See mapHARVEST : 100% manual, with “passerillage” (raisins).
VINIFICATION : The grapes are put in the pneumatic press without crushing, and the pressing is long and smooth in order to preserve the purity of the aromas. Wild-yeast fermentation during 3 months in our old oak casks, then aged 6 more months on the fine lees. Estate bottled.
WHEN TO DRINK IT? This wine already attempts a great level now! But don’t hesitate to keep it for a few more years or even decades, it will continue to earn some harmony and complexity.
TASTING NOTES : Complex nose of candied fruits and raisins. Incredible balance in mouth with rich and complex aromas, great density, notes of honey which give way to an incredibly long and fresh finish, carried by the purity of the granitic terroir and some notes of mint.
PAIRING : This wine is a conversation piece. It can easily be enjoyed for itself, small sip by small sip, to make you share great moments with great persons.
HOW TO SERVE IT : At 10°C. Better when opened an hour before pouring. Decant if possible.
